posterous added to site +

I’m really happy with my Palm Pre. It helps me a lot to multitask the real way, unlike other phones who pretend to. On top of that, development for WebOS is a breeze… I definitely plan to release a cool application for my friend Kier and his fresh XenForo software. Andrei is the culprit who made me discover Posterous, this amazing, advertising free service.

Posterous gives you instructions how to link your own domain to their account. However, I don’t understand why they tell you to create an A record, when a CNAME is way more logical to use for what you are trying to do. Using this type of setting will eliminate any issues that might arise if Posterous decides to change their given IP address.

Anyways, I setup my Posterous account to post.yqed.com. All I did was adding the following setting, into my DNS server zone:
post IN CNAME posterous.com.

Once I took care of the kitchen work, I visited their Manage section, clicked on Settings and entered my new name into Custom Domains section:

Voila, everything was working seconds later.

I forgot to tell you why I did all this. :)
Multitasking, baby… Well not really, is more like laziness, heh. I use Tweed to post pictures and videos from my Pre, directly to Posterous… so I wanted to use a “friendly” URL that is part of my domain name. However, I left all the images intact so people know I use this great service.

Way to go, Posterous. Congrats on your fine work.
