install palm mojo sdk into vista 64 bits +
I recently purchased my Palm Pre. Awesome phone, powered by WebOS into a Linux environment. What else a developer can ask? Anyways, I wanted to install their SDK so I can play with the phone emulator and see how difficult is to write a program.
Well, if you follow the instructions posted below, you will be able to run the Pre emulator in a 64bits Vista environment.
1. Download Java for Windows 64bits and install it. To verify that Java is installed, go to the Command Prompt and type: java -version
If Java is installed properly, the version info will be displayed.
2. Download VirtualBox 3.0.10 for Windows (VirtualBox-3.0.10-54097-Win.exe) and install it. I did not choose to install the USB, Network and Python support. Once the installation is completed, start VirtualBox and setup your Sun account (basic free registration):

Close the program, once registered.
3. Download the Palm Mojo SDK (Palm_Mojo_SDK-Win-1.3.5-368-x64.exe, for Windows Vista & Windows 7 64bits only) and install it.
4. Once SDK installed, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Palm\SDK\bin directory, right-click on palm-emulator.bat file and run it as administrator:

It will start the final installation steps and present you with the familiar Pre interface you currently have on your phone. From there, you can start using the regular Palm Emulator shortcut, installed by default.
That is all… was not to hard, right? If you find this entry useful, please post a link into your blog.
Hi,
I did the same thing. But it was showing “Palm Emulator requires that VirtualBox 2.2.0 or greater is installed. I have version 3.0.6″, when run palm-emulator.bat. What should I do??
Did you opened VirtualBox and registered your info, closed VirtualBox, then ran the .bat file as administrator?
I had a hard time until I read this page. Thank you so much.
I downloaded everything but it is not allowing me to register.
What do you mean by “not allowing” you to register? Please describe in detail what is your issue.
ive followed every step however everytime that i try to load the emulator its on the screen for a millisecond. I have tried unistalling and installing both the sun virtualbox and the sdk. any help
thanks,
mark
When you run the .bat file, it will load the emulator for you automatically.
This didn’t works on my Win7 64. the emulator doesn’t start
It works, if you use the versions I mentioned above.
It is telling me that palm emulator requires virtual box 2.2.0 or greater is installed
