I recently had to switch from Vista to Windows 7. I always do a clean install and update all my products not using any backups. However, one step I hate the most is to recreate all my email accounts.

Solving this issue is easy. All you have to do is save the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook

Right click on the Outlook folder and select Export. After you install Outlook, simply double-click on the saved file to update your accounts. You will be asked to enter again the password for each email account, automatically.

If you are the easy type, simply run the migwiz executable, at a command prompt. Be aware that you will probably backup undesirable files, so make sure you customize your so called “easy” transfer.
